Folklore, Myths and Misconceptions

Our perceptions of wildlife around us also affect our relationship with it. In this session, we dive into several folktales that feature animals in Singapore, and they show us about how people used to view animals such as the saltwater crocodiles (19:30)—as mysteries, threats or guardians. We also discuss common misconceptions surrounding certain organisms in both the past and present, with a special segment related to one of our favourite pastimes—eating (28:10)!
