In the Wake of a Terror-filled Night at LKCNHM

Missed our ‘Halloween Night at the Museum’ event? Here is what happened that evening!
It is when darkness falls that the Museum comes alive. In conjunction with Halloween this year, the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum opened its doors to members of the public for the first time afterhours. Held on 28 October 2022, Halloween Night at the Museum was a highly anticipated event, with all 100 tickets on sale sold out within two days!

Visitors were treated to a special Halloween themed tour around the Biodiversity and Heritage galleries, including the Body Snatchers exhibition that features a wide variety of parasites. Guests gasped in horror upon hearing stories of how the offspring of caecilians, which are ‘snake-like’ amphibians, eat its mothers’ flesh and were kept on their toes as they listened to how human remains were found in a tiger shark in Singapore in 1967.
Participants were also invited to wear costumes for the event, and boy, were the costumes creative! What a sight it was to see Mario, Lugi and Star Wars troopers learning about biodiversity! Five participants who came dressed to impress were chosen to receive a goodie bag each.

Participants who won “Best Dressed” or guessed the correct number of staff members who were dressed in duck costumes were issued this card to redeem their goodie bag!
Staff members were also decked out in duck costumes, for there was a mission that attendees had to accomplish—to guess the total number of staff members who were dressed in duck costumes! One would have to find the leader of the Duck Squad (in black) to guess the number. A huge shout-out to all who managed to get it right!
