Abstract. New information is presented on the anthophorine bee genus Habropoda Smith, 1854 from Vietnam.
The genus is represented by five taxa from northern Vietnam and the Central Highlands. Habropoda pierwolae,
new species, is described and placed into a sinensis complex along with two other species. We change the status
of Habropoda disconota Lieftinck, 1974 and recognise it as a new subspecies of H. mimetica Cockerell, 1927. This
subspecies is redescribed and a key is provided to the subspecies of H. mimetica. Habropoda tumidifrons Lieftinck,
1974 is newly recorded after a half-century, and its male and nest are reported for the first time. Two species, H.
sutepensis Cockerell, 1929 and H. tainanicola Strand, 1913 are recorded for the first time from Vietnam. In addition,
a new subspecies of H. tainanicola — H. tainanicola vietnamica, new subspecies, is also described from Vietnam.
New data on floral associations are presented along with a key to the species of Habropoda from Southeast Asia.
Key words. anthophorine bee, floral association, morphology, nest, taxonomy
