Internship Period: September 2026 onwards (6 months to 1 year)
The Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Outreach and Education Assistant with an interest in nature, the environment, and Singapore and Southeast Asian biodiversity.
Working with the Museum’s Outreach and Education team, the assistant will support the delivery of educational programmes, guided tours, workshops, and outreach activities for students, teachers, families, and members of the public. The intern will also have opportunities to contribute to education and outreach projects, including the development of educational resources and learning materials.
This role is suited for someone who enjoys working with people, is interested in education and public engagement, and is keen to gain hands-on experience in a museum environment.
Traineeship Period and Arrangement
The traineeship can commence in September 2026, with a minimum commitment of 6 months and the possibility of extending the traineeship for up to 1 year, subject to mutual agreement and availability. Full-time commitment is preferred. The working arrangement and number of hours will be discussed with shortlisted candidates during the interview process.
The role may involve working on weekends, as well as occasional early mornings or evenings, depending on programme and event requirements.

Qualifications: Diploma / Undergraduate / Bachelor’s Degree
We are looking for someone who:
Prior experience in teaching, workshops, guiding, public engagement, facilitation, or educational resource development is an advantage but not required.
Candidates from both science and non-science backgrounds are welcome to apply, provided they have a strong interest in nature, the environment, and biodiversity.

Note for NUS Undergraduate Students
Current NUS undergraduate students may also be eligible to join the Museum’s Outreach and Education team as a Student Assistant through the NUS Student Work Scheme (NSWS). This is a flexible, hourly work arrangement designed to allow students to balance work alongside their academic commitments. Students may continue in the role throughout their undergraduate period, subject to their continued eligibility under NSWS and the Museum’s programme and staffing needs.
