Education Officer (Part-time/Casual Staff, 1 year)

The Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum (LKCNHM) is looking for applicants interested in outreach and education in biodiversity and natural history to join our education team. The successful candidate should be a motivated and hands-on individual who will assist with development and execution of the Museum’s indoor and outdoor biodiversity education and natural history programmes. We encourage interested applicants to apply promptly, as interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis. 

This is a part-time/casual position with a flexible schedule. Applicants are asked to commit to at least three days per week, with the option to work up to five days depending on availability. Hours are as needed and may include Saturdays. The start date is flexible between January and February 2026, with the possibility of later dates. All details can be discussed during the application process. 

 

Description 

  • Coordinate and conduct gallery tours, workshops, guided nature walks, and other outreach and education programmes.  
  • Assist in developing publicity materials and resources for outreach and education programmes and involvement in project planning where required. 
  • Other duties as and when assigned pertaining to the LKCNHM Education Team. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Singaporean 
  • A bachelor’s degree in science from a recognised University, majoring in Biology, Zoology, Botany, Geography or equivalent. Fresh graduates and undergraduates in their final year of studies are welcome to apply.  
  • Good knowledge of biology, nature and Singapore and Southeast Asian biodiversity. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written) and organizational skills.  
  • Able to interact with all levels of students and members of the public.  
  • Must be able to work on weekends and public holidays, and at late or very early hours when required.  
  • Relevant experience in teaching, conducting workshops and guiding field trips is preferred but not required. On the job training will be provided.  
  • Familiarity with designing and editing software will be an advantage. 
  • Willing to learn and have a passion for nature and the environment.
