The Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum (LKCNHM) is looking for applicants interested in outreach and education in biodiversity and natural history to join our education team. The successful candidate should be a motivated and hands-on individual who will assist with development and execution of the museum’s indoor and outdoor biodiversity education and natural history programmes. We encourage applicants to apply early, as interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis. 

Description 

• Coordinate and conduct gallery tours, workshops, guided nature walks, and other outreach and education programmes.  
• Assist in developing publicity materials and resources for outreach and education programmes 
• Other duties as and when assigned pertaining to the LKCNHM Education Team. 

Details of traineeship:  

•  Start date (between May to Aug 2024) of traineeship is flexible and can be mutually agreed upon.   
• Possibility of conversion to a longer term position at the end of the 6-month traineeship.  

Qualifications 

• Singaporean 
• Graduated or graduating in calendar year 2023 to 2024 (both years inclusive); or graduated earlier and completed National Service between 2023 to 2024 (both years inclusive);  
• A Bachelor’s degree in Science from a recognized University, majoring in Biology, Zoology, Botany or equivalent.  
• Good knowledge of biology, nature and Singapore and Southeast Asian biodiversity. 
• Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written) and organizational skills.  
• Able to interact with all levels of students and members of the public.  
• Must be able to work on weekends and public holidays, and at late or very early hours when required.  
• Relevant experience in teaching, conducting workshops and guiding field trips is preferred but not required. On the job training will be provided.  
• Familiarity with designing and editing software will be an advantage. 
• Willing to learn and have a passion for nature and the environment.
