| Synopsis |
Singapore is one of the most developed island nations in the world, with a very busy port and some 70% of its shoreline modified by developments. The marine life of Singapore, however, remains extremely rich, with numerous new records and even new species of plants and animals discovered each year. The island still has significant areas of coral reefs, seagrass beds and mangroves which harbour a myriad of species. Through this workbook, we hope to educate students on the fundamentals of seashore ecology, so as to improve their understanding and awareness of the rich marine life thriving on our seashores. |
