More on Design Incubation Centre (DIC)

Design Incubation Centre (DIC) is part of the Division of Industrial Design (DID) situated in SDE4 of the National University of Singapore.

With the main mission to incubate ideas and projects, DIC supports undergraduates and graduates from DID to bring their projects to reality. A working prototype and/or the commercialisation of the product is achieved at the end of the incubation. Projects that are not suitable to commercialise under DIC are put up for commercial licensing, allowing another company to acquire the rights to develop and commercialise the project.

To complement the incubation initiative, DIC developed a label “DID.IT”. Outcomes of the projects that are successfully commercialised under DIC’s incubation are retailed here to promote the designers and increase market reach to their products.

Through academic and professional collaborations as a public design studio, DIC promotes the role of innovation and design in the ecosystem.
