Abstract. A new species of the Indo-Pacific sponge crab genus Dromidiopsis Borradaile, 1900 is described from the Xisha (= Paracel) Islands in the South China Sea. Dromidiopsis integra, new species, is unique among its congeners in having a carapace that is distinctly longer than wide, with its anterolateral margin entire except for a small, low tooth posterior to and beneath the external orbital tooth. With this discovery, there are now seven
species recognised in Dromidiopsis.

Key words. Decapoda, Dromiacea, Paracel Islands, Xisha Islands, Western Pacific, taxonomy
