This workshop, which consists of a guided gallery tour and hands-on session, aims to introduce the vast diversity of native animals found in Singapore in a fun and interactive manner. Participants will learn to make sense of the biodiversity around them through the use of Linnaean Classification. The workshop will also touch on hierarchical classification and binomial nomenclature. Participants get to examine real specimens in a hands-on session, further enhancing experiential learning of classifying various groups of animals based on their features and adaptations. The selected groups of animal specimens used include poriferans, cnidarians, echinoderms, arthropods, molluscs, and chordates.
