Description

This is a family of Old World monkeys characterised by forward-facing eyes, five digits on each limb with opposable thumbs; most species have a tail, which is not prehensile.

In Singapore, only three species are recorded: the Banded Leaf Monkey (Presbytis femoralis), Long-tailed Macaque (Macaca fascicularis) and Pig-tailed Macaque (Macaca nemestrina).
