Cladophoraceae

Kingdom:Plantae
Phylum/Division:Chlorophyta
Class:Siphonocladophyceae
Order:Cladophorales
Family:Cladophoraceae

Description

The members of this family are filamentous with the filaments being simple or branched. They have very little (if any) mucous coating, and thus have a rough and crisp feel. Due to the lack of mucous, epiphytes are often found growing on them. They can be found attached to a substrate or can be free-floating.
