Description

An ecologically important plant family of about 557 species of mainly shrubs and small to medium-sized trees. No latex is present. The leaf blade is pinnately nerves, never tri-nerved. There is very minute glandular teeth on the leaf margin. Most abundant genera include Aporusa, Antidesma and Baccaurea.
