Project Semakau Third Anniversary Celebration
12 Nov 2011
To commemorate the third anniversary of Project Semakau, a celebration was held in NUS on 12 November 2011 to thank the volunteers for their continuous support and efforts in making Project Semakau a success.
A scrumptious buffet lunch was first served as volunteers and their guests trickled in to join the celebration. Once stomachs were satisfied, the participants embarked on a mini “hunting-seeking” game. Using observation and searching skills sharpened over many survey trips to look for hidden cards, three groups emerged as winners.
A summary of the survey data collected over the past three years were presented. This was followed by a sharing session by some of the Project Semakau volunteers.
In recognition of their exceptional efforts and contributions to Project Semakau, awards and certificates were presented to 36 of the most active volunteers and RMBR Nature Guides.
The Director of the RMBR, Professor Peter Ng, gave a closing speech, acknowledging the valuable contribution of our volunteers and emphasizing the significance of the data obtained through Project Semakau.
Punctuating the event was a slideshow of a collection of photographs taken throughout the span of the project. The celebration ended on a warm note, with fond memories rekindled in many volunteers’ minds.
