ORGANISMS DESCRIBED FROM SINGAPORE
For the past two centuries, since the time Stamford Raffles travelled to the Far East, numerous species of organisms have been scientifically described and named from specimens collected in Singapore. Many of the names are still valid today, while others were found to be synonyms of species already described. Examples of these taxa (valid or otherwise) are presented here along with citations of the original reference publications. Our list is far from exhaustive, but we try to make it less so over time by gradually adding species. So do revisit this site for updates.
